'For me fashion is about playing with different garments and accessories...It is a way of expressing yourself.'

You began your blog in December 2009. What inspired you to create a fashion site?
I began to upload photos of my looks on Facebook and different social network sites about fashion, and it made me want to have my own more personalized page where I could upload more photos. I wanted a place that was just mine and that was how I started uploading the different looks on Sissy à La Mode.
According to, Sissy à la Mode is one of the 100 most influential Spanish fashion blogs, as well as having thousands of fans on the main social network sites. What is the secret of your success as a blogger?
Everything I put onto the blog is because I like it. I would never put something on there that didn’t suit me or that wasn’t my kind of look. I try to please people like everyone does, but I always know what is mine and what I really like.
Those with fashion blogs are being increasingly labelled not only as 'Bloggers' but as 'Ego Bloggers' or 'It girls'. Do you agree with these terms? Or is there something negative which makes you reject them?
The term 'Ego blogger' contains an implicit negative tone but it is a reality. I am an 'Ego Blogger'. My blog speaks about me, myself and I and that's that. We are all free to look at and take part in whatever we want to on the internet. On the other hand the term 'It Girl' fascinates me. Just because you are an Ego blogger doesn't necessarily mean you are an 'It Girl'.
Are you now professionally dedicated to your blog and the world of Fashion or is it just a part of your professional activity?
The blog is a part of my leisure time and right now I don’t know what I would do without it! It really gives me life.
What does Fashion mean for you?
For me fashion is about playing with different garments and accessories. It's about being up to date with the latest trends, losing myself in blogs, visiting shops and fashion magazines. It is a way of expressing yourself.
In your blog, do you show what is fashionable or what you like to wear?
I show what I wear, and as I like to be up to date with the latest trends, I mostly coincide with what is fashionable.
Do you think that bloggers influence the decisions of the big label designers?
The bloggers are people who you can see walking around any city or town, and the fashion is out there on the streets. It is never born on the catwalks.
What is the profile of the users who visit your blog and your fans on social network sites?
They are generally women who like me are looking to adapt themselves to the different looks proposed on blogs.
Where do you get inspiration for your looks?
Mainly from fashion blogs and outside on the street.
Can you define your style in one sentence?
No, it's impossible. I'm very changeable.
What is never missing from your wardrobe?
Black skinny jeans.
What do you consider essential to be well-dressed?
Feeling comfortable in what you are wearing.
The golden question, what is going to be fashionable?
Flower and ethnic prints, the colour white, dungarees, back to the 90s...
Do you have any fashion advice for those users reading this blog?
Have a good basic stock in your wardrobe for those many mornings when you don’t know what to wear.
'I am an 'Ego Blogger'. My blog speaks about me, myself and I and that's that. We are all free to look at and take part in whatever we want to on the internet.'
